On Friday, others and myself traveled to Harlem to assist with the food pantry at the Food Bank. This experience was truly humbling and interesting. This encounter gave me the opportunity to meet and talk among the students as well as the shoppers. I was placed in the dairy/ protein section. This section was very active and required I use my Spanish speaking skills. I was very nervous at first, but after the first 10 minutes I became comfortable. Overall, working at the Food Bank food pantry was amazing. I would be interested in working at the food pantry again on my own time.
